John E. Diakoulas

President & CEO

John Diakoulas founded Acropolis Construction Co. in 1973 and has been at the helm ever since. John’s vision, tenacity, and team-oriented leadership style have allowed Acropolis to grow into the widely recognized and respected industry leader it is today. John works closely with each of his clients as if they were his partners, and knows that Acropolis’ success is a function of its core values; the ability to retain trustworthy and proficient professionals and a loyal client base that often negotiates Acropolis’ repeat business. John continues to pursue his vision with Acropolis, earning the distinctive “Businessman of the Year” award from the Business Advisory Council over the last three years for his efforts.



Gary L. Armstrong

Executive VP & COO

With over 40 years of construction and management experience, Gary Armstrong is well versed and poised to advance Acropolis as Executive VP & COO. Under his direction, Acropolis has the systems in place to manage projects of any scope, from small renovations to new out-of-the-ground buildings. Gary has been and continues to be an integral part of the Acropolis team, helping to reshape the company from a Division 9 Subcontractor to a viable Design/Build General Contractor, and contributing his knowledge base to expand Acropolis’ core competencies.



Devin J. Diakoulas

Vice President & CFO

Devin Diakoulas has been a key part of the Acropolis team for nearly 20 years. With a double major in Finance and Economics from Towson University, Devin acts as the strategic partner and advisor to the CEO, and plays an important role reviewing all estimates and proposals before submission. As Vice President & CFO, Devin is responsible for managing the overall financial health of the company, estimating, project management, pre-construction feasibility studies, business plans and pro-formas, and company strategy.



Hugh C. Clower

Director of Architectural Services

With more than 40 years of architectural experience, Hugh Clower brings a thorough understanding of the design and construction process to the table at Acropolis. As the Director of Architectural Services and project designer for all design/building projects, Hugh is responsible for conceptual and schematic design, and initial building code review. Hugh has gained his valuable experiential knowledge from involvement in a variety of projects ranging from small residential projects, to large commercial, institutional, and educational projects.



Marie C. Koviak

Office Manager

Marie Koviak has played a vital role as Office Manager at Acropolis for over 15 years. Marie is instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of office operations, maintaining important documentation, licenses, and regulations relating to all aspects of Acropolis’ business. Marie handles the fast-paced office environment with ease thanks to her tenacity and attention to detail.



Theresa A. Hall

Administrative Assistant

Theresa Hall has been a part of the Acropolis team for several years and continues to expand her responsibilities as an administrative assistant and project manager’s assistant. Theresa plays an important role working closely with the estimators and project managers to streamline and expedite what are often complex processes. Theresa is responsible for a variety of essential functions at Acropolis, and her hard work helps to ensure that each project is a smooth and organized process.
